Millions of people across the Mid-Atlantic and the Northeast were waking up early Tuesday to the beginnings of a nor’easter that was expected to dump several inches of snow, disrupting daily life in New York and other major cities.
In New York City, rain began to turn to snow around 5:30 a.m., with some accumulation on grass and cars. The snowfall was expected to intensify during the morning commute hours. Meteorologists said New York City could still receive over six inches.
