Judge Andrew F. Wilkinson Killed in Maryland
A judge in Maryland, Andrew F. Wilkinson of the Washington County Circuit Court, was killed on Thursday evening, another judge on the court said.
The other judge, Administrative Judge Brett R. Wilson, said that Washington County Sheriff’s Office was investigating the death.
Neil Parrott, a Maryland state delegate who represents parts of Washington County, said on social media that Judge Wilkinson had died after he was shot multiple times and that the police were actively searching for the suspect.
“We are a courthouse of six judges,” Judge Wilson said in a phone interview. “We all know each other very well.”
Judge Wilson declined to share additional details about the death.
A profile of Judge Wilkinson on the court’s website said that he was born in Guam in 1971 and joined the court as an associate judge in January 2020.
The sheriff’s office did not immediately respond to requests for information late Thursday.
This is a developing story.
