Mike Pence, Republican Presidential Candidate, on the Issues
Mike Pence
Former Vice President
He is the staunchest abortion opponent in the field.
Former Vice President Mike Pence has been more open than most Republicans about his opposition to abortion.
He claims climate change is exaggerated and would prioritize domestic energy production.
Former Vice President Mike Pence has acknowledged that climate change is happening. But he claims that “radical environmentalists” are exaggerating its effects and rejects the scientific consensus that the United States (like the world) must reach net-zero emissions by 2050, calling it “completely unfeasible.”
He is one of only two candidates to have visited Ukraine, and he supports military aid.
Former Vice President Mike Pence has accused Mr. Biden of not supplying aid quickly enough, though his campaign did not respond to a request for more specifics on how his policy would differ. In June, he was the first Republican candidate to travel to Ukraine, where he met with Mr. Zelensky.

His hawkish stances are outlined in greater detail than the positions of most others in the field.
Former Vice President Mike Pence has outlined an expansive policy that includes ending normal trade relations, imposing sanctions and canceling Chinese holdings of U.S. Treasury debt.
He wants to cut agencies and regulations and narrow the Federal Reserve’s mandate.
Former Vice President Mike Pence attributes inflation largely to government spending, which he says is “unsustainable,” and to climate policies, which he calls a “war on American energy.” His plan for reducing costs includes:
